Hi there- my name is Margaret Ulman! I’m a senior in high school, located in South Florida. I’ve been passionate about helping my community from early in life– helping put together food and book drives, volunteering often at my church for events like VBS and thrift sales, and participating in events like Food Packing for Haiti, beach cleanups, and more. I also have been intrigued by our environment and the ways in which it is affected and changed in our day and age. I wanted to continue these passions with an organization that could educate the community about harmful invasive species– discussing topics including
- invasive species’ impact on the environment (and you!)
- how to recognize prevalent invasive species in your area or in the wild
- and what to do if you do recognize these species!
I hope you will find this organization and the information distributed helpful!
Mission
This organization serves the local community by educating and raising awareness on the topic of harmful invasive species. We aim to give back to the environment by protecting native species and we hope you will help us in this journey!
I hope to do this in several methods– working with my school’s Green Club (of which I am the President) and individually. Currently, I am finishing a project on invasive species education, assisted by the FISC Kathy Craddock Burks Education Grant.
